A Few Reasons the World is Nuts

If you’re a veteran of the 60’s ( if not use your imagination),  we  had:

Viet Nam
Political Riots
Race Riots
Hong Kong Flu
Moon Landing
Woodstock
Nixon
Drug Revolution
Sexual Revolution
Charles Manson
5 Day War
Hippies
Yippies
SDS
Kent State
Super Bowl 1
USS Pueblo/North Korea
Cold War

...and a lot more...

Now imagine if we, back then, had:

CNN
Fox
MSNBC
Social Media
Twitter
Bloggers
Conspiracy theorists with a platform
The Internet ( in general )

The points being that we made it out of that calamity with the relative serenity of the 70’s, armed with better art, better technology and somewhat improving Social conditions.

...And the sheer panic,  loss of common sense, misinformation,   disrespect and overall mass insanity is incredibly magnified by the new era of media and communication.

For all of us amateur historians,  I think we have to put these new communication tools high on our list as among the generators of the bizarre times we’re in

Personally,  taking that into consideration,  and adjusting my attitude to stay focused on reality vs media reality,  is a great aid in sanity and positivity through all of this

It’s also a strong incentive to help create media that enlightens, informs and helps with a realistic, productive and individual POV rather than this mass hysterical  way of living
